Inspired by the community nature of text-based BBSs, the BBS Project intended to provide a modular means to turn a low-cost Linux machine into an online community center.

Currently, expected features are:

• Both console and GUI interfaces.
• Support for a variety of terminals
• Menuing system
• Simple or advanced door system for interaction with other console applications
• Chat rooms
• Forums
